>> 310 km done <<
One month ago, I started on a two-year-long challenge to move the distance between the town I live and my hometown, and in this time, I already learned two fundamental lessons:
- It is doable
- I have to be consistent
10 kilometres a day is not a task I am struggling with, in particular on a bike. I try to mix it up with running and my gym’s cross-trainer, but the bike is the device that allows me to get down the most kilometres. So, after 28 days, I stand at 310 km, 30 more than I have to.
I have to be careful, though. Every day I am not active; I am losing 10 km. It is very easy to get behind, and that is why this challenge will test my endurance on a different level: will I be able to stick with a big challenge like this for longer than just the first month? In the past, this was around the time when I lost interest in my goals. I am excited about them at first, but I often stop pursuing them further when the honeymoon phase ends. And because I want this to stop, I will continue.
Be sure to come back for next month’s update.
